🧘‍♂️ Sometimes I need to sit in stillness, and too many times I don’t remember that.

Rest in the Space of the Mind
“When your mind is feeling tired and foggy from meditation,” my Buddhist Teacher said to me, “look to the horizon. Allow the mind to rest in the space that the...

@maique You didn’t photograph the Lisbon marathon this year? Or am I
mixing it up with another race?

🥵 I got some good work done outside in the garden today, clearing a lot, but boy is it humid out there.

@Mtt I so wish that Slips would run on MacOS 15 ... and an Intel Mac. I'd fly in and scoop it up if it did! …just saying 😉

@daveycraney @macpsych I was going back through my timeline and noticed that you were are both unwell in a similar way. If I didn’t know better, I’d wonder if you were both next door to each other, or in the same work place!

After 6 months of coding and refining, I’m thrilled to launch Crowfi! 🚀

I wanted to build a Mastodon client for iOS that feels fast, looks clean, and respects the way we use the Fediverse.

🍎 Get it on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/crowfi/id6756513753

Please Boost to help me reach the community! 🔄

I’d love to hear your feedback as I keep building. ✨

📱 One app I don’t mention nearly enough, is Tot. I use it every day. I’m happy to have paid for it, as it works wonderfully, on top of being gorgeous. Even on older machines, the ones Apple has left behind a long time ago.

I upgraded to iOS27 last night. This morning I went to write a review on an app and got the message that I cannot write a review on a prerelease version of iOS. Come on #Apple, get your act together!

@getbookshelves Does Bookshelves interact with Xteink devices (X3 in my case)? I know that downloads direct from Calibre are possible on Xteink devices, so I wondered if Bookshelves has or will have that feature?

🤪 I was going to do something, look something up, and now (two minutes later) cannot remember for the life of me what that was??

Rain is pouring outside as I type this. Grey clouds hang low. The ocean, in the distance, is obscured from view. The clouds might lift briefly revealing all that is currently hidden from view, including the blue sky and sun, but this wet weather feels like it is the dominant feature of today. And right now, that is welcome. Stay at home, quiet. No sense of being pulled outside.

Allowing people to tell their stories, enables them to release the pressure that they hold.

I’m not long back from my weekly men’s group. I am so grateful for this group, especially at this time here on Maui. A group of men who I get to know that little bit more each week. A group of men with whom I can sit and be honest and real with. A place for accountability, vulnerability. For listening, support, maybe challenged at times….but never judgement.

I always say that I will make a Mana Foods' cookie last, but never succeed. They are so good. https://manafoodsmaui.com

I returned home yesterday to rental cars parked up in the fields around the airport here on Maui. I hadn’t seen that since height of COVID. Then, with no visitors on the island, there was nowhere (apart from the fields around the airport) to park up the huge excess of unwanted rental cars.

This time, with so many visitors leaving in the wake of the devastating wild fires, there is again no room in the garages for the unwanted rental cars.
