Sometimes a perceptive #avgeek can tell which airline an unpainted new plane will be going to. The rudder gets installed already with final paint because the paint hangar can't get inside the mechanism with out disassembling it, which they don't want to do. Unless it's a special livery, this looks to me like it's going to Singapore Airlines.

Credit to @JetTip for the first hint that a Boeing-owned plane might be on the way to Portland from Renton, which I inferred as possibly new. #aviation

Some good news: A Phase 3 clinical trial of what could be the first new #tuberculosis vaccine in over 100 years has been able to enroll all needed participants months ahead of schedule. https://www.statnews.com/2025/04/28/major-tuberculosis-vaccine-trial-completes-enrollment-faster-than-expected/

As summer in the Northern Hemisphere approaches, it is important to keep in mind how temperatures are changing... 🌡️

Shifting distribution to the right ➡️ increasing societal risks from extreme heat.

The driver? Humans... The burning of fossil fuels.

Hello Hachyderm! 👋🏻 I’m Jason

I’m just this guy. I live with my wife and kids and a lot of animals. I enjoy physics, math, music, and coding.

For a dozen years I got to help make Stack Overflow. I love making web software fast, and now I do that at other places.

Right now I'm working on htmx-local, a small way for us to take back the power of the web https://htmx-local.glitch.me

Here's an odd one. Customer Support at Change.org got back to me on why my email is not considered valid. They do not allow emails that "start with a few words" for spam reasons, like "chris@".

I was like, okay... what if I just try a subaddress, like chris+test@.

Yup, it works. Circumvents their annoying anti-spam with little effort, idk why websites keep reinventing anti-spam methods. #security

I haven't animated anything in a hot minute so this weekend's project is a walk cycle with a lil guy. His name is Pajamas. There's some foot slipping and slight skipping that isn't showing up in my preview and I'm not sure what's causing it in the render? But oh well 🤷‍♀️ #art #blender #animation #b3d

One of my very first custom foiled portrait clients came back when I started offer custom paintings! I had the privilege of painting her dog Luna, and I think I captured her scruffiness!

Was stalking @TodePond's profile and https://github.com/tldraw/tldraw is actually a really neat project.

Does one thing and does it well, all the while being open-source and easy to integrate.

I use both Obsidian and Inkscape a bit, and an open-source canvas tool is a nice in-between option. #Tools

From Dani Davalos on Pinterest https://pin.it/2X8aZPUzw , the most beautiful thing I have seen so far today.

Bluesky is cancelling accounts when foreign governments ask them to, and Threads is doing adverts soon.

The thing to understand about the corporate public messaging systems is that they do not exist to let you publish or to talk to people. That is not the point of them. That's at best just the bait laid to lure you into their trap.

They exist to make money for the shareholders. That's why Threads exists, that's why Blockchain Inc invested to keep Bluesky running.

Only one network exists in order to let people communicate as the point and reason for it's existence. Only one network has no shareholders and no owners.

Only one is fighting for the user, not the shareholder.
