The Portland newspapers headlining that K9 dog was shot during an arrest and barely mentioning in a blurb that “oh yeah the suspect was also shot and killed” is making me nuts

Spiritualism 2, computer boogaloo

It makes me insane that I will switch to BitWarden most likely only for Some Shit to happen there and then I won’t switch because what else would I use at that point. And the answer will be I guess Apple Passwords + Keychain + Something Else to fill all the gaps.

Alright, Alan Wake 1 complete. What a fun game despite how late I’m coming to it

Unironically, Jordan really deftly balances comedians who mostly don’t have culinary experience with chefs who obviously do while mostly praising the chefs because they understand the challenges are ridiculous but also letting the judges critique and praise on their own. Truly Jordan carries this show not because they’re funny (they are) but from their ability to balance this being a comedy cooking show that involves judging and fun.

I really truly hope we get a third season of Gastronauts

I wish i could understand why i can happily listen to new-to-me Stephen Sondheim while working and have no problem reading, but if I try to listen to new pop music i simply short circuit.

I hate people complaining about games costing $80. I really do.

I’m not shilling for the business, and some of them super suck.

$50 video games from 30 years ago should easily cost that now with inflation. The problem is wages didn’t keep up so that’s such a larger proportional amount of what people have.

Like yes you’d still get “old people complain a steak dinner was $3” kind of shit, but it would hit different. I think it’s the misdirected frustration that kills me.

I have a dozen things to do and instead of doing them I’m going to the movies.

I gotta tell you, with AI now it is very unfortunate that my cat is named Claude.

I am an avowed mint chocolate lover. Favorite dessert flavor combo of all time.

But my god I just had the worst mint chocolate cupcake from Fred Meyer. I can’t describe it except to say the mint frosting tasted like barbasol smells. Awful.

I still ate the whole thing but awful.

okay i successfully unpacked 4 or 5 kitchen boxes this weekend. if I do one a day for the rest of the week, I'll have all those done.

Going to hold off unpacking the physical media cause i want a friend to come over and help me flip my living room around; no sense putting them in the entertainment center just to take them out again in a week to do the moving.

Then I have like 3 other miscellaneous boxes to do.

A south-facing apartment is all fun and games until summer

Much as I'd like to support OregonLive for a local news source, i can't even login without disabling my ad blocker even with having a subscription. so. okay.

Okay. I am going to officially say I live in Portland now! I've got internet, I've got furniture, I've got so much unpacking to do. But i am here!

A new Git version just dropped and it comes with a new experimental `history` command!

`reword` can be used to change commit messages and `split` can untangle a single commit into multiple ones.

No more interactive rebase. 🎉

oh god tomorrow is monday

It’s all fun and games hearing the cliche “you don’t just love your kids, you fall in love with them” until your friends adopt a kid and you do in fact fall in love with them AND ITS NOT EVEN YOUR KID

Oh okay. We're making human code review optional at work. Okay. Cool. Okay. Okay. Okay.

You might say "Jon that's pretty selfish that you didn't get radicalized until it might impact YOUR job and life" and like yeah, you might be right. But hey at least I got there? It's hard to be truly mad at things in an abstract, and admittedly my radicalization had been building but the past...6 months was just a breaking point.

to clarify: always thought capitalism was bullshit and exploitative, just hadn't quite hit "burn it to the ground" levels until recently.
