Regarding the Danfoss fridge thing doing the rounds in the media - there’s several thousand of them that are directly internet facing.

Every single one is like this. You can just log in and change the temperature. Anybody can do it, easily scriptable.
Caught the end of Strictly (Antiques Roadshow is on after) and Josh Widdecombe and Johannes Radebe don’t look like they want to be there, or anywhere near each other. “Like licking piss off a thistle” comes to mind.
Had another gardening tool casualty though, after 12 years the broom finally disintegrated. It’s had two new handles, a new wing nut and a fair few general tweaks and repairs, so it’s done a great job. Now that I have a shed the replacement can stay dry in there. #gardening
Many years ago I planted a pampas grass because I liked the flowers (sigh, no, not that). Trouble is, the leaves are like kitchen knives and it grew very, very big, and I was getting sliced too often. So I dug it out, it was huge, and I broke the spade getting it out. For a few years this great lump of a root ball sat on the patio, covered to stop it regrowing. At last today I cleared it and reclaimed the patio. It’s now a really nice mulch, and there’s lots of it. 🥳 #gardening
@vrsamuk I follow a lot of sign painting things, saw this one, have you seen the result out and about?
October, octobering. 😒
Flu vaccine has been got. Was pretty busy and maybe I should have waited til the afternoon session, but hey, done now. They’d just called out 69 (nice) when I got my ticket.
Decided to pin my “computers are annoying” toot. Pretty much a daily thing now.
Was going through toots and I got a notification from another app and Ivory scrolled to the top. No way to return it to where I was. Oh well. 😠
It’s definitely that time of year. Squish, drip, plip, plop.
I actually got back to sleep!
Resisted the urge to get up and have a quadruple espresso with dark chocolate because that’s somehow what I really want right now and am going to try and get back to sleep.
Adversarial poetry! Reminds me of steganography, but… well, not, but feels similar. It’s so bizarre, so like something from a whimsical sci-fi story, but, also creepy horror too. (See last boost)
Late one night, my patching lagging, logs unread and firewall sagging,
Found a poem in a stylesheet. Odd, I thought, but nothing more.
Insomnia, but craving some really chewy black coffee.
The #ArtemisII Preliminary Lunar Science Report has just been published - https://assets.science.nasa.gov/content/dam/science/missions/artemis/artemis-ii-prelimsci-report-/Artemis%20II_Preliminary%20Science%20Report.pdf (134 pages) - together with related documents (another 120 pages) and some highlights: https://science.nasa.gov/feature/artemis-ii-preliminary-lunar-science-report/. IMHO they still don't make a convincing case that the alleged impact flash observations by the astronauts were real nor do they discuss details of their circumstances (like total observing time, state of dark adaptation, limiting magnitude) or put the claimed impact frequency into the necessary context of the known rate from ground-based telescopic observations.
Origami cats designed by Kyohei Katsuta, Gen Hagiwara and Katsuta Kyohei respectively ... :pic2_cat:
Anyway, got a haircut while out in the wilds. Fresh fade! #selfie
I don’t often interrupt people, in fact I rarely do. So rarely it’s almost never. BUT. “The thing I liked about Anne Widdecombe was she spoke the truth, unl…”
Yes, I was rude, I interrupted. Not having that.
After* the conversation I just had, out there in the real world where *people* are, I think we need mandatory media awareness training for everyone before they’re allowed on the internet.
* I thought this before, but now, especially now.
