Mining project on sacred Pe'Sla site in the Black Hills is halted after company withdraws following a TRO issued by the courts.
“The defense of Pe’ Sla, where Pete Lien & Sons was pushed to withdraw its plans for exploratory graphite drilling around the sacred site, should be celebrated and acknowledged as a significant success,” said Sacred Defense Fund’s Dov Korff-Korn, to UR.
Northern Wisconsin residents gathered to boil maple sap along the banks of the Bad River, on Canadian oil giant Enbridge’s pipeline easement for its 41-mile Line 5 reroute on March 29, 2026. Enbridge started construction activities in late February, despite numerous ongoing lawsuits challenging its operation of the pipeline.
