@adhdeanasl had a post that reminded me of this ditty.

YouTube was kind enough to serve that one up randomly not long after my ex left. Thoughtful sort.

Just found out, another friend passed away yesterday.
He would have been 60 in October.
Pancreatic cancer.
It seems unreal.
50 years ago today.
I don't need another motorcycle. But I'm a sucker for the Art Deco look of the new Indian Chief Vintage.
@jessta they basically wrote a long form plot to a 3am infomercial 🤡
Anyone hiring a frontend developer in Canada? Circumstances have led me to start looking for my next job sooner than I would have liked.
I excel at working on design systems, cultivating a frontend culture, building with the grain of the web, and creating inclusive user experiences. Reach out if you need help with any of these!
I have deep knowledge of the web fundamentals (HTML/ARIA, CSS, JS) and the frontend ecosystem at large (build tools, frameworks, design tools).

I wasn't on much today.
Took the Lightning for a drive up the coast with the folks to visit relatives.
First time doing any distance in an EV. Everything went well. Relatives called other relatives to come see the electric truck. I kind of felt like a sales guy showing the various features.
Took them for a spin around the block. "Isn't that something! Quiet as a golf cart."
Charged up over lunch and headed back home. Everything worked as advertised. No issues using the DC charger.
So far so good. Lots of upside, very little downside.
I need to get a copy of my driving abstract.
Insurance company specifies the online request form, which you can fill out online, needs to be printed, signed and either mailed or faxed to them.
Suddenly it's 1985.
...and that's when the fight started.
“Associating with the Donald Trump administration’s multibillionaire adviser Elon Musk and misusing artificial intelligence are among the most surefire ways for companies to damage their brands, a new survey of more than 100 international public affairs leaders found.”
Cutting DEI programs ranks third (after Musk and AI) in destroying your brand, survey says.

Kyle Connor has a bunch of EV based YouTube Channels, and is known for his technical deep-dives.
He's generally been positive on Tesla vehicles. He tries to avoid the political stuff. It's not as easy as it used to be.
His personal Cybertruck has had a number of faults only some addressed by recalls/OTA updates.
The latest incident involved the complete failure of one of the inverters/drive motors, apparently a known issue on tri-motor CTs.
And yesterday it bricked itself completely while parked in his garage.

At 14:10, you can see how the steering wheel freewheels since the 48V system that supplies it is dead.
Trump is serious about annexation.

Could you not?
”Nothing short of an administrative coup“— @theatlantic.com
“Elon Musk is not the president, but it does appear that he—a foreign-born, unelected billionaire who was not confirmed by Congress—is exercising profound influence over the federal government of the United States, seizing control of information, payments systems, and personnel management. It is nothing short of an administrative coup.”
