We're all forced to pick a certain identity, from a ridiculously young age, for the sake of managing the expectations of others.

I like that take on identities, and how when we choose our own we're often happier. I'm going to think about that in my Reluctance series where it's always put upon the child to name themself, and they can change that name whenever they choose. This thought goes to the heart of the matter. Thanks.
