The US situation is driven by an accelerating cycle of deteriorating democracy. Republicans are rolling back MLK's voting rights legacy, empowering an ignorant, racist mass of GOP voters who are hell bent on denying and accelerating global warming upon themselves. That's the root cause of the nonsensical wave of cancelations of wind energy projects and their replacement with horrible fossil fuels.
