I always suspected a UK government would eventually reverse course on "coding in public".
So I've been backing up all government code. For six years.
Today I finally generated a report on what has been deleted. Its much worse than I realised.
What she had to endure: three canceled flights, three nights in a fleabag motel, many hours on hold that resulted in dropped calls rather than talking to a human, and destroyed luggage.
What United *didn't* do: (1) Make humans available to navigate the mess. (2) Recognize that sometimes it is better to triage a situation to preserve human dignity rather than hope for additional profits. (3) Offer her any sort of compensation for any of her woes.

CD ripping & Home media server: I made a personal copy of my father’s CD collection, along with my own CD collection. This allows me to avoid streaming these songs instead. I have loaded them on an old school mp3 player, but I prefer to listen to the lossless copies on a home media server. Plenty of people use Plex, but there’s many options for home media.
