I do appreciate social media sites that support some way of hiding particular posts. I've had to unfollow folk sometimes on some sites because the site doesn't allow this and there's just one piece of news they've shared that pops up again and again that I can't bear to keep seeing.

My preferred version is a simple "hide this post" option. That is easy to access. It doesn't have to hide that it exists. Just put the post behind a content warning for me. "You've hidden this post" type.

Sadly, I think I'm going to have to quit PeerTube (as a creator). The instance I use is now having to charge and I don't have the income to justify it.

Still baffled as to why anyone follows this (my chaos) account. Maybe they think I'm suddenly going to go all in on one thing or another here. Rather than wheeling through the cosmos picking up dust and off-gassing at random. Did this just become an astronomy post? You'll never know. Whooo!

While I love Mastodon (and will not be leaving it any time soon), I really miss the absolute chaotic shit-show (in the most affectionate sense possible) that is Tumblr.

There's so much "wrong" with that site but it often has a joyful playfulness I've not seen captured elsewhere. I need more of that in my life.

Also, if you've got a bunch of really niche fandoms it seems like the place to find your people.

I saw a post a while back complaining that a very masculine looking person had been cast as Murderbot in the TV series. When the Murderbot in the books is non-binary.

I cannot stress enough: How you perceive someone is not necessarily how they perceive themself.

I properly attended pride today. With my partner. We've discussed our sexualities, etc. many times so I was not expecting my own reaction when it got stated, casually, out loud to a staff member doing a survey of the event.

Don't think I showed it but, I felt like 12yr old me bracing to be set upon by the bullies.

Apparently the first time you admit these things in public (even in such a tiny way) can churn up things you didn't even know you were burying.
