What exactly is the goal, because if it is the first, it is achieving the exact opposite. If it is the second, how is that going? Does he really think he'll be able to unite Americans against the common enemy, Canada?

So I say that I will go ask her. The older siblings tell the younger one to go with me and she knocks on the door. No answer. Dogs barking in the house, but there’s no cars, so I asked her to follow up tomorrow and to keep an eye out for the kitten because it hasn’t been weaned yet and still needs her mom. She says they will put it back on the porch.
They are the worst criminals.
About 10 minutes later my gardening friend shows up with the kitten.

But the husband was pretty sure they kitten napped it. I thought, there’s no way, but I don’t like second guessing him about things like that because he is usually right.
So I go down to the village square where all the teens are, and I ask them if they have seen the kitten. They say no, but the youngest (who was there) doesn’t say anything. So I ask her by name and she says maybe her friend knows.

New neighbours in the village. They are transplants from the city (Ottawa) and they have 4 teens. The teens have friends who are here (visiting?). The ghost town finally has some life. This is good.
But today, the youngest came by with her new friend, my gardening assistant and they were playing with 2 barn kittens on the porch.
Later when we were taking the dogs for a walk they came back. When we got back from the walk, one of the kittens was missing.

The anniversary of my sister dying of ALS six years ago reminds me that some progress has been made in research, but there’s still no cause and no effective treatment.
It is a horrific disease to suffer or to witness. If you can, I would like to ask that if you are in the position to be able to, that you make a donation to whatever ALS society there is in your region. Maybe it will save a future loved one.
