I gave this a try on some absolutely awful code of mine (a throwaway personal project that I never got around to throwing away but really should have) and it’s done an excellent job. Watching with interest if the business model works out.

Hi @natpanferova , I tried to auto-add this with my rss feed reader (NewsBlur) and it didn’t find your feed. (I did find it eventually, but only because I knew to keep looking.) In case I’m not the only one running antiquated tech, maybe a link rel=“alternate” in <head> would help.
While I presumably have your attention: I really enjoy your combination of “what to do to make it work” with “how to think about it so that makes sense”. Thank you for doing what you do.

Woohoo! “The workaround of setting up the @State property as an optional and assigning the model instance inside a task(priority:_:) modifier to avoid repeated allocations is no longer necessary.”

Also “why don’t we wear capes?” and “can I get a cape?” and “if I had a cape would you let me wear it when it’s raining?”

Isn't it amazing how in an ecosystem everything fits together and works perfectly? But I suppose if it didn't all work perfectly, we wouldn't be here to know things about it.

This is good stuff. And at 28 minutes in Brandon teased *precisely* the next extension I wanted to ask about (multiple actors “collaborating” in a shared-but-exclusive isolation domain). 🍿 #swiftlang
the #1 complaint we hear about AI interfaces is how unpredictable they are. that’s why we’re providing a new way to interact with our services with well-specified and reliable behavior. we call it Artificial Predictable Intelligence, or, API

This stuff is so fascinating as a glimpse of what happens when you remove human oversight completely and just let an agent-loop completely run wild. Also fascinating because doing this significantly better feels totally attainable while still getting a lot of benefit from the tools: this mess is a CHOICE.

@amyworrall a timely one for you

Oh my GOSH this one is gorgeous
And what, you might ask, is this for? Well, it gets the seal of approval from both the 10- and the 12-year-old.
Sunday morning mini-project. (Not pictured: Saturday we prototyped the idea with cardboard and hot glue.) Materials: chopstick, toothpicks, and some light wood from the hardware store left over from a pre ious project.

I think I can be very productive working this way. But, I also think the skills that let me be productive working this way, I would not have acquired if I was always working this way.
LLMs on my mind. I spent a fascinating few hours using copilot intensively on a hobby app. The phrase “every augmentation is also an amputation” is now taking up a lot of space in my head. (Marshall McLuhan, don’t he love a soundbite? By way of Neal Stephenson. I suppose I’d better cite the source although some of it is imo batshit: https://nealstephenson.substack.com/p/remarks-on-ai-from-nz)
Whoops. I managed to lock myself out of the house: I have a key, but I also put a key in the inside part of the door and, um, that wins.
I’ll report in the morning just how uncomfortable the car is.
Any experts on #beetles (behaviour+ecology) here to answer a couple of questions? We get oil beetles (Meloe) here in north Greece but last year I saw none at all over the period I would expect them to mate and lay eggs. I’m wondering if one bad breeding year is likely to wipe them out locally, or if there will be adults overwintering from previous years who can pick things up. #insectodon #insects
