We had a long-haired white cat who liked to sleep under the wood stove. Unfortunately she had a brown spot on top of her head, and it would get uncomfortably hot to the touch. I think she baked her little brain!
@gdinwiddie @MLE_online eep, poor kitty!
@ireneista @MLE_online She had a good life, and lived to 25 years. We inherited her from my wife’s mother who named her Sweetheart hoping it would improve her disposition, but it didn’t work. 🙀
I made friends with her, partly because I’m part cat, but also because I would trim the knots out of her fur.
I don’t think you can care for a cat without getting clawed or bitten a few times. But it’s worth it.
@gdinwiddie @MLE_online 25 years! wow! it sounds like she lived a full life, then. well done on the trimming. yeah, their sharp parts are just how they express their opinions, it's worth it.

I know it hurt her when I cut the knots pulling on her fur. Those areas were already hurting. But she came to realize that it was going to hurt less afterwards.
