🤨 I just want to say that I find provinces charging for vaccines…unconscionable. If anything, they should be doing everything they can to encourage as many people as possible to be vaccinated, so the population can protect people in our communities who cannot be vaccinated.
I don't know what the actual cost of the vaccines are when purchased by the hundred-thousand or million by provincial health authorities, but regardless of the actual number, it's going to be a tiny fraction of the cost of even just being seen in the ER, much less being admitted to hospital. One unvaccinated patient going to the ICU for a week would probably cost the system as much as vaccinating thousands.
Charging for them is "penny-wise and pound-foolish", as the Brits say.
