If I'm selling a car for $2500 and they want to transfer the money from an ANZ account to a Westpac account.

    a) How long does it take?
    b) Is there any risk to me?

I'm apparently a bit out of date.

Edit: Apparently it's pretty well instant between accounts at the same bank, can take up to an hour between banks. Main advice is to wait for the money to show in your account as there are scammers who will fake the transfer.

@thomasbeagle I did this recently - they were willing to send the money first then come pick up the car after it cleared, so that helped. it is supposed to be same day now to transfer between banks but if it is sent after hours I have observed it can be next day.

@thomasbeagle the buyer could I suppose tell their bank they have made a mistake on the transfer and claw the money back - it is not that easy to do though and may not succeed.

@canllaith Already got the EV and it's great! I never want to go back.

This is selling the car of a friend who moved to Ireland and needs the money. :)

@canllaith I went with the Jaecoo J5. Well-specced Chinese EV and relatively cheap. I'm liking it so far.

    How about you?

@thomasbeagle they are really good. My partner has the hybrid OMODA branded version but runs it almost exclusively on EV. I went with the Atto 1 as I wanted a little hatch and I couldn’t be happier.
