    Hmmm... what to do?
I'm in a different hotel in a different town, where I'm supposed to pick up a new trailer tomorrow. The highway that leads to my house is still closed due to flooding. Even if they open it, I don't know if the dirt road from the highway to my house will be navigable after 3.4 inches of rain. Normally I would solve this by going camping for a few days while the road dries out, but the roads to all potential camping spots are also flooded.
Maybe I just need to pick an interesting looking town and rent a room for a week while everything dries out? I'd really like some solitude, but right now I'm not sure how to accomplish that.

NMDOT still reports the road as closed, but my neighbors drove it yesterday and said it's fine. So I'm going home, wish me luck.

@wanderinghermit My neighbor's got one of those. I've got a little farm trailer that connects to my ATV for that job. I only have to take my garbage 2 miles, to the "curb" where Waste Management picks it up. I also have one of those trays that install into a vehicle hitch and I sometimes use that on my jeep. My truck is currently busy with the camper in the bed.

Like that, but metal mesh. I don't much like putting garbage in the back of the truck where I sleep. In my case the transfer station is 45 miles away, so I need something that will hook to the truck.

@wanderinghermit Yes, that's probably a lot like my neighbor's trailer. I might have a picture of that, too.

Yep. I borrowed it to get my ATV down to the fix-it guy. The ATV barely fit on it and I had to use straps to keep the ramp up against its back tires. Perfect size for hauling garbage pails, though. And it would be street legal if she had working lights on it and bothered to get it registered. Didn't stop me from taking it into town, tho. Twice. 🤣

I'm home, the roads weren't bad. Even the dirt road to my house was passable, if somewhat washed out.

I don’t have the trailer, not at all happy with Lowe's right now. They had a trailer like the one I ordered but with a different part number (WTF?). So they changed the order to the one on their lot, then discovered that they couldn't find the title. 2 hours later they sent me 80 miles home, I have to go back when they get the title. At least they gave me a steep discount.
