I think the argument that copyright is needed "to promote the progress of science and useful arts" has been completely debunked. People will make science and art on their own, unless they are too oppressed to have the space for that.

Same with inventions and collections of facts. Legal restrictions and temporary monopolies are not needed for people to make and publish these.

Abolishing copyright, database rights and patents would harm the companies and owners responsible for a part of this oppression.
