    i give up.
after half a lilfetime of fucking around with openwrt on numerous routers i am finally tired.

    i want an all-in-one solution.

    5 accesspoints

each one offering 3 different networks (2.4ghz, 5ghz, IOT)
the accesspoints should be manageable so i can configure them ONCE and never touch that stuff again.
plus for a webinterface that enables to manage all APs from that one point.
    plus for POE
    plus for trustworthy vendor without
    backdoors in a stock-firmware.

    suggestions?

    So its mikrotik or ubiquity.

I need a central thing for device management.

    Imagine:
    I connect a new Computer to wlan2.4
I want it to get an IP address via DHCP from the central management thing.
It should do AP hopping if i wander around without losing its connection.
Another feature i need is the same APs need to provide a second WLAN called InternetOfShit
Whatever connects there gets an IP from the central management thing in a different IPrange and has no access to LAN vor Internet.

I also need a simple mechanism in the management Webinterface to let a device from the internetofshit network reach the internet.

For pairing with an app, updates or some other weird reason my toiletseat needs to chat with its chinese manufacturers.
This is usually something i enable for a couple of minutes and disable after the thing is done.

Is there a management device for mikrotik that provides what i need?
    What am i looking for?
The same questkon is for ubiquity.
    What to check out?
