It's already been said many times that the U.S., under President Donald Trump, was turning its back on #Ukraine.
But the past few days show something worse than abandonment: Trump is now actively helping russia win the war.

I don't care if it is 85°F outside, I'm going to paint a snowy scene with a barn and no one can stop me.
I'm just so sick of all the cunts.
Surely, they can't be serious.
@lydialurch we're all exhausted, and nobody is ok.
Feels like minutes ago when everyone was talking about how to switch to Linux. No more? You must be exhausted.
Crazy gramps keeps posting fake AI-generated videos in which he performs phantasmagoric feats of bravery and strength. This one has a cruel extra component.
(Not a word in the NY Times, though.)
This little sculpture high up on the Burleigh street facade of Brechin's Bar in Govan, is known as the Govan Cat, and it's one of the most unusual memorials in Glasgow. It's in remembrance of a cat which did a great service to the residents of Govan by single-handedly clearing out a heavy rat infestation, but died from injuries sustained while doing so.
My new theory: anyone who actually has feelings of empathy knows that machines simply... don't. However, sociopaths' sense of empathy is muted at best; often, they believe the rest of us are making it up, and they learn to approximate sympathy, concern, etc. based on mimicking outward appearances.
Therefore, sociopaths may honestly believe that computers can feel empathy, because they process "empathy" the same way. The people claiming computers can have feelings may honestly believe it – because they're sociopaths. #AI #LLM #LLMs

Advice: You can't control others, but you can control your reaction to them.
Translation: You need to change to accommodate the bad behavior.

Advice: No one can do anything to you unless you give them the power to do it.
Translation: It's your fault for letting them do it.
Maybe I'm just too cynical. Maybe I've just dealt with too much crap to accept platitudes at face value.
the pope should have had to wait for a council of pregnant and trans teenagers decide if he really deserved to have his cancer nodule removed before the surgery was made available to him
How strange it is when nations of immigrants become nations that hate immigrants.
Kozy Shack rice pudding needs more rices.
Can’t Allow Elon Musk the Power to Intervene in Wars
No individual should be able to disrupt military ops like Musk did with Ukraine’s.
I wrote that when he did it in 2023. Was told the problem was contract rules.
Nope. Happened again. The problem is too much power, esp for an enemy of democracy.
The U.S. Government Can’t Allo...
Zero #wage growth∶
The combination of higher #inflation & weaker wage growth means that Americans are #earning less for every hour of #work. Average hourly #earnings, adjusted for inflation, fell 0.5% in August, & were down 0.7% from a year earlier. It was the sixth straight month of year-over-year declines in real earnings.

People have likely heard about Elon Musk throttling Ukraine’s access to Starlink.
All of us who oppose the right wing assume the ability to communicate.
