Oh, just one more thing - happy Columbo day

It's horrifying how many people are happy to "put aside ethical considerations"

It was bad enough finding out in 2020 how many people would rather kill someone then be inconvenienced by a mask, but now it feels like the majority of people just have no morals at all

Trying to fall asleep, and I'm very aware that underneath my eyelids, my eyes are wide open

You're pantsing a book. You write chapter one and it's good. You write chapter two and it's good, but for it to be good, chapter one needs to be different. Do you:

I wonder if LLMs encourage people to invent weird terminology or whether people always had weird terminology in their heads just waiting for an excuse to come out

If AI made a boat it would be a sloop

Today expect showers of bullshit and rivers of slop. It's a good day to learn a new language. Don't forget to back up your data!

I think the reason nobody's saving the world is because nobody makes money from saving the world

And our society doesn't care about anything other than making money

Finding recipes on the Internet sucks, especially if you have food allergies.

I think it would be cool if we made a Wikipedia for recipes. No stupid life story SEO, just a picture, ingredients, and instructions. And substitutions for allergies.

Of course with any public web project in 202x the unanswered question remains "how to deal with AI scraper DDoS".

Maybe put it behind a login and have a per-user rate limit?

I have a game idea - you're exploring an enormous procedurally generated spaceship. The power's off and you're running out of air. Each room may have resources you need to survive a little longer and open a few more doors.

The design of small rooms with a small number of light sources made me think it would be a good candidate for GI.

Godot has several GI technologies but reading the descriptions, none of them seem like they would be right for this.

Any advice?

We should make a browser that only does a simple subset of web technology and then just start only making web pages for that.

Like reverting to the 90s web, but with the lessons learned from the 90s web.

All the overinflated corpo browsers would still work, but you wouldn't have to use them (for these pages).

And making an open source browser becomes possible again because we wouldn't have to deal with 30 years of feature creep.

Just refuse to add any new features.

Conan - what is worst in life?

Now that artists are using time lapses to prove that their work is genuine and not AI, I wonder how long it will be before someone trains an AI to generate time lapses...
