I've been meaning to check my old mp3 playlists to see what artists/tracks I may have neglected as I built my streaming ones. Just scrolled through my *extremely* random 255-hour work mix that I used to listen to at my help desk job, which includes artists like RuPaul and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. A lot of it is soundtracks from Disney movies, musicals, and anime. I did see some things I used to love and am excited to pick back up, even though I probably wouldn't consider them in my top ten.

I finished 6 books in August 2026. Slowly making progress on Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series. Those main books are chonky! So good, though. I'm definitely intrigued by the Cosmere universe and seeing some connections to Mistborn.

I also started listening to the Red Rising Saga by Pierce Brown. It's giving Ender's Game meets Hunger Games. Is Capture the Flag a trope?

My nonfiction selection for August was a graphic novel memoir that was highly recommended here on the fedi, Anxietyland by Gemma Correll. Y'all, I felt SEEN. Anyone who has experienced anxiety and/or depression would probably appreciate this one, though I'll warn that there is some alcoholism and pet death.

Tim Curry too? 💔 I would like to go back to bed now. #TimCurry #RIPTimCurry

I went to so many midnight showings of RHPS in college. Dressed up. Did the Underwear Run. Was a Card Girl.

I looked for a photo to share from when I saw her in concert in 2019, but she was too shiny and I didn't now how to do white balance on my phone camera at the time. All I got was big white blobs. 😅✨

Anyway, she was amazing. We have lost a treasure.

Smells fantastic! I can hear fruit bubbling inside.

In the oven!

Vegan food

Letting the batter stand for 10 minutes before folding in the fruit.

I'm making a mixed fruit vegan clafoutis for #EBTSC using some frozen fruit (pineapple, strawberries, peaches, and mango) I have thawed. Almost 9 years since I decided to go vegan, and I can't believe this is the first time I'm using aquafaba.

Hey, #Minnesota folks! Anyone know what this is supposed to be???

My dad got it for me on a trip to #Duluth in the late '80s or early '90s. He thinks it's a #cryptid or #mythological creature called something like takahair (phonetic).

In July 2026, I finished 9 books. I caught up on the Spellmonger and Murderbot series and restarted Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series.

Also finally got around to Project Hail Mary after seeing the movie earlier in the month. Both were good, but I think I actually liked the movie a bit more. The book didn't make me cry, and the movie soundtrack was pretty great.

My nonfiction selection for July was the audiobook version of The New Perimenopause: An Evidence-Based Guide to Surviving the Zone of Chaos and Feeling Like Yourself Again by Mary Claire Haver. 10/10, highly recommend, ladies in or approaching perimenopause!

(I borrowed that from the library and did not receive the referenced supplemental PDF. If anyone can hook me up with a copy, that would be super!)
