I mean, honestly. 2/2

After a brief hiatus our #OpenStreetMap interview series is back!

This time we spoke with Sofia Pahaoja of Touch Mapper, a website where you can create tactile maps for visually impaired people for free using OSM data

@mloxton And, as always, this is a good time to put out the call:

LEARN CPR AND AED

If you have already been trained, is it time to renew? The guidelines change over time.

You could save a life!

To anybody reading Becky Chambers’ new book that didn’t know (like me):
It’s part one of a duology.

How can one of the coolest games get any cooler?!

By standing on fucking business!

I am a little over halfway through The Infinite State by Swan. This is one of the most brutal and intense sf books I've ever read. It's truly a horror book. It's also incredibly and impeccably well-written.

Okay! It's been a long time setting up, but we're finally ready to start accepting submission for issue 3 starting November 1st!

Slept well last night, finally. Thank you to everyone for the empathy and care, it was appreciated.

The Symptom of the Day is eye irritation. Took my rx drops, drenched otc drops, nothing is helping. Super annoying. Oddly, the eye that has blown a little vessel isn't the eye that hurts the most. Calm down, body.

Does anyone know where I can get a list of all the sci-fi books published in 2026? Not a best of list, but a comprehensive catalogue?

Goodreads sort of has one? but it's done by reader voting, so that's not really what I want.

🍂 As Europe and the north slips quietly into shades of amber, rust, and encroaching dark, our world softens into bloom. Down here at the edge of Africa, the canopy catches fire in violet. 💜

Asterion is in the jinni lamp, absolutely stuffing his pockets with anything not nailed down. #bg3

When the cataloger of our fabulous new miniature books collection comes by and asks, “Do you want to see something pretty?” you say yes.

FUTURE? NO THANKS is the latest game from Molleindustria, who have been creating leftist games since before i knew what that meant. I've followed them for a decade and this comedy open world adventure game is their biggest, coolest project yet

meanwhile, for anyone on the Console side of retro, one of the great joys of steam is that there is frequently some guy who just drops their full scale dragon quest 1 style rpg on steam for like 5 bucks

this time, it's called Chaos Warrior.

@ChrisMayLA6 I work on food and pharmaceutical safety systems. Part of my work is designing systems that ensure your food and medicines get to consumers like you and I in a safe manner frequently enough for insurers to underwrite policies relating to food and medicine factories, stockpiles, and shipments.

The climate crisis is having a serious impact on my work. The required safety margins for refrigeration and temperature control are becoming much harder to achieve due to frequent heatwaves and natural disasters like storms and floods which disrupt the electrical grid and telecommunications infrastructure.

I cannot stress enough how expensive it has already become to manage these risks. If we do not take action now, insurance prices will cause food to become unaffordable for most.

thing 2, running across the house: “oh no! I left my ideas in my pocket!”

About to handcut 120 monster pics. Round corners seemed like a good idea at the time. Wish me luck.
