Got the flu and covid shot this morning. By afternoon, I was feeling it.
Running hot and cold now. yay.
Nothing major, just annoying.

I'm fairly sure most people on here are well versed on the subject, but it's a decent summary of the situation. I find the snark amusing.
I've heard several people IRL going on about recursive AI training, but they seem to all gloss over model collapse if they even mention it at all.
"...And the senator, while insisting he was not intoxicated, could not explain his nudity."

Mum moves into the secure extended care home today.
It's a nice facility with a good reputation.
Still, mixed emotions.
We found out that Mum has a placement at a local extended care home. It's a nice place. She worked there as an RN about 45 years ago for a few years as she transitioned from ER to something less frantic. That was in their old building. It's an all new campus now.
Dad is meeting with the administrator today. She could move as soon as tomorrow.
I don't know how to feel.
I've been putting off getting glasses. The company cut coverage, now it's a seperate and expensive rider.
The last pair were $1200 in Winnipeg. The progressive lenses aren't particularly strong, but were pricey.
Mum's care worker suggested SpecSaver in the local Superstore.
I picked up two pairs, one being polarized sunglasses for $514 all in.
So that was nice in these inflationary times.
🙂
My youngest daughter came over for the weekend.
We hung out, roamed around the city a bit, showed her how to use a lawn mower and she helped me swap out the fluorescent shop lights for LED fixtures.
"Now you can do it yourself."
"Probably, but I'm still going to ask you."
"That would be just fine."
🙂
Got an email from the technology boss at work: "We've noticed that you're not using your CoPilot licence. Here are some tasks which you could by simplified by using AI....[snip]
If you aren't using your licence it may be redistributed to another employee..."
Seems like an problem that will resolve itself.
Life has been a lot lately.
And I got my auto insurance renewal. It's gone down on the Touareg and Moto Guzzi, which is fine.
But the Lightning's has increased by $700/yr. Spoke with the Allstate rep, his 2025 Model3 is up by $500/yr.
Apparently all of the EVs have been hit with big increases.
Previously, the Lightning was within $100 of a similarly equipped F150. Not anymore, not even close.
AI generated school agenda in Kentucky goes about as well as expected.
Mum has gotten away a few times lately.
I put a child-proof cover on the door knobs of the exterior doors.
So far, Mum can't figure them out.
I hate this.
Also, WTF is so much riding gear solid black now? Drivers scarcely notice bikes at the best of times, Why would you make yourself even less conspicuous?
HiViz is taking things to extreme, but regular yellow, orange or red on black is enough to help with conspicuity.
Finally broke down and bought new riding jacket and pants. My old jacket was 25 years old, and showing it.
It was a Joe Rocket Ballistic 2.0, black with yellow patches, NOT the current HiViz stuff, just yellow. I looked like a hornet.
The armour had deteriorated, and the water proofing had given up sometime in the Bush administration. The abrasion marks in the Kevlar from my high side are minor, but noticeable.
But it seems to have shrunk a bit around the belly area, so it had to go.
The new stuff is Klim Latitude. Dad-gear. It's lighter and the latest armour seems much less rigid, apparently by design. It's Gore-Tex and the pop-up thunderstorm on the way home proved its ability to repel water.
It should be the last set I get.
