java's verbosity mostly gets glossed over by the brain because it's always the same thing and you know exactly what is going to be there, no need to pay attention to it. kotlin ? miss three letters and now you have no idea what's going on

i find it wild how kotlin has some good features bolted on top of java and very good and welcome additions to the standard library, and then they blow it all up by introducing the worst fucking syntax you've ever seen which makes reading kotlin code a chore

spite oriented engineering

with how many people i see shitting on php because of the cve, i'm considering making my future git forge in php just to piss yall off. grow the fuck up

mojeek and marginalia have given me more useful information than google and bing that how fucking bad these are now

honestly i hate how search engine (google and co) have gotten useless these last few years

yea i need to write some tests for my toy vcs

just learnt the french created the word "vroomer" for people who like car centered infrastructure a little too much and i think the english language could benefit from this

jdtls needing the lsp client to hook with the compiler instead of doing it itself is bulshit

im sure with enough time and dedication i can write an ant vineflower task to decompile a whole dependency in some directory, and an lsp which will be able to consume that, which is pretty much all we need to comfortably write minecraft mods

i'm now in love with apache ant and hate jdtls

hey it's wolfgirl wednesday

pet me

wasn't that long ago either, that was in summer 2020, just before uni started, barely 6 years ago

thinking about when i was a wee little programmer and didn't know the reason json was used was to have it parsed by machines, and extracted json files from game jars to get values from json files and manually fed those in a script to get probabilities

if im doing it how i think i may do it i'll need to write an ant task, fun

i should write tests for git teaching thing

i have so many things to write about but i can never seem to get in the right mind space to actually do it

i fucking hate having adhd

sidenote: we have enough production capacity of houses, food and medicine for the whole world, we simply choose not to share it, which is obviously unethical

my views are extremely simple: if something of quality exists, and we can get it to everyone, then everyone deserves it. obviously, tangible things like houses, food, medicine are gated by production capacity, but knowledge is free to share, and therefore should be accessible to everyone

software is just knowledge translated to a machine readable language, hence, it is also free (or very close to) to share, and therefore should be accessible to everyone

the only ethical (imo) way to monetise software develpment is support contracts
