Hey all, this is your periodic reminder to donate to your instance.
I do, and frankly, I'd rather pay a few bucks every month than deal with shitty ads and algorithms.

Not sure what to bring? Here are some examples of things we've seen before:
- Clothing
- Fabric and knit accessories
- Toys, electronic and non-electronic, vintage or modern
- Lamps
- Small furniture (things you can bring to a library safely)
- Jewelry
- Seasonal decorations
If you'd like to bring a phone for repair, we will have phone repair tools available, but *you need to bring the replacement pieces, if relevant.* We can't order them for you. This includes but is not limited to cracked glass, missing features like buttons, screen protectors, etc.
If you'd like to bring knives to sharpen, our standard limit is 3 blades per person. If knife sharpening is too busy, we may have to lower it to make sure we are able to help everyone.
If you'd like to bring jewelry, please keep in mind that these repairs are free and provided by volunteers. Expensive, valuable jewelry should be looked over by a professional, as most, if not all jewelry *can* be repaired. If you're not sure if the piece can be repaired and want a second opinion, we're happy to take a look at it.
New video is up!
This week's video is about Muse, from Meta AI, and the 404 Media report where internal Meta engineers speculated that a data breach related to Muse may be inevitable. I also discuss general risks around AI agents and previous security incidents with Muse.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!
If anyone out there feels like giving me a gift, I'd be tickled pink if you hit like on one of my videos or left a comment. Thank you, and let's drink to another year of mischief and joy.
I'm needing to get a bright sweat suit that is highly visible for my 5AM scoots to the gym in the dark.
And y'all, we found a winner.
YES
Those of you who've been around a minute know I've been really enjoying my Anti-Spotify video going mini-viral, so I'm checking in on it.
4,660 views X 21.99 = $102,473.40 (per month)
$1,229,680 annually
This is what my dumb little video is costing Spotify if every viewer switches to a FOSS alternative. What a happy thought!
1. Just saw a bunch of happy young teenagers out taking Homecoming photos in the neighborhood. They were excited and it brought me joy to see it.
2. Sammy is 100% healed up, glad to have our furry prince back to feeling better.
3. Mizzou beat #8 Florida by 37 points. HUGE win, but a very tough schedule ahead. Could put them in the playoff mix if they keep winning.
My new video is up!
This week I talk about Microsoft Copilot's prompt review program, privacy risks of using LLM's and leaks, and discuss a European privacy alternative.
Note: There are some off color jokes in this one and I do wish some bad things on pedophiles.

Ugh, really wish I could talk to my boy dog today.
He's been sick all day long, but thankfully, no pukiness in four hours. He doesn't understand why he's not getting a treat after I bring him in from pottying, and it's because if I do he may go full doggie volcano, which I can't deal with after going through ten towels today keeping things clean.
For now, his little tummy is sore and his heart is broken.
Hopefully he's feeling better tomorrow.
Question for my nerd friends on Masto: Is there a good, useful FOSS blogging tool out there that integrates well into Neocities web pages?
I'm wanting to be able to do simple status updates, which I'm currently just doing in text on my home page.
Turned out to be a pretty good day.
The pizza got me a little bloated but the football was fun to watch and I am about 75% done with the script for my Halloween Special.
Now to figure out this week's video... thinking of making one about alternatives for young people who are age-gated off social media.
A magical thing has happened.
My Anti-Spotify video has reached a view count sufficient such that, if every viewer canceled their Spotify sub and switched to Metrolist, then it would mathematically cost Spotify a million dollars a year. (Assuming they're subbed at the $21.99 tier.)
Not bad for a small youtuber and a single dumb video.
New video is up!
This is an actual positive video for your Friday. I talk about the public backlash against Flock and how it's translating into real change, as evidenced by the massive hit to Flock's profits and their decision to offer employee buyouts.
If you like the video, please hit the 'like' button as that helps us small youtubers out immensely. Thank you!

Just finished my video for the week, and I'll upload it tomorrow.
For once, it's a positive video, if you can believe it. I discuss the Flock employee buyouts and the hundreds (seriously, hundreds) of Flock contracts that have been canceled since last summer.
There's a surprising abundance of good news.

Kevin is clearly a king.
Decided to pivot.
Going to make my video this week on positive developments coming out of the anti-Flock public outrage, because shockingly (to me at least), there's actually a fair bit of good news.
Now to write a whole new script. :)

A little bummed.
Just read about an 82 year-old who (her words) "hit something", checked behind her probably big-ass SUV, saw nothing, and then drove home.
The something she hit was a Norwegian guy in the US to roller-blade from New York to California, and he died.
I fucking hate car culture here.
