I always make sure I get a charging cable that is long enough to get stepped on and tangled like a prop in a Jerry Lewis Movie.

Salut to those curators of diners and roadside attractions, Margolies and Baeder

First person to post identical twins showing off their iPhones Duo wins!

You ever look at a cantilevered building, maybe its second story is larger than ground level, with doubt about its structural stability?

They exist, I don’t see them often however

I scroll through and update them by size from smallest to largest. First those under 100 mb, then under 200 mb, etc.

55 app updates. I believe that is a new overnight record.

I’m guessing mostly for Duo code, which I don’t have, but I suspect a point update of some sort to iOS soon, by Monday perhaps?

My phone is just old enough to not handle most Apple Intelligence stuff, but it still gets 27 updates.

When the first iPod was released, there were barely any Apple Stores to speak of. The largest nearby Apple Dealer was a regional value added retailer serving educational accounts mostly, but with a store.

I picked mine up there on a Saturday first day of release I think. So it must have been November 10, 2001.

Not many knew about it yet. I think I saw a short video of Phil Schiller talking about it from his desk.

Those discounts hardly ever amount to more than 10% to 20%, no matter how generous they -seem-

It only means the piece of gear is way expensive to start with.

Edith Prickley was anything but.

Be sure to download a sample ballot early; many areas are railroading changes to state constitutions and similar that could surprise you & wear down your patience during the voting process.

Study , discuss these complexities with others, and consider the question behind the question before you go to vote.

I hate that you simply can’t get oral thermometers that work on the
principles of physics rather than needing batteries.

I don’t get fever that often, but when I do all I can find in the house is some lcd lollipop with a dead battery. It’s like you have to buy one everytime you get sick, and that’s damn inconvenient if you are feeling sick.

They should just forward it as Apple Cash to the devices sold during the period.

But that would be too simple.

I bet the response rate to class action settlements is in single digit percentages at best.

If Apple themselves would like to reduce the negative effects of social media, one thing they could do is give Safari back the built in RSS feed reader it had 20 years or so back.

But perhaps what really drives social media the most is the framework the smart phone itself gives to those platforms. Twitter, in its accidentally good days, seemed more perfectly suited for phone, once it introduced search.

Tweeting from laptop, I did not even have Twitter open to read, I was doing other things.

Nothing much, just messaging people I’ve known so well for years that I have not even conversed with them in at least 2 years.

You may not have a nostalgic bone in your body, and a Don't Look Back attitude, but I'd like to suggest the habit of at least minimal journaling to young people as the decades rack up.

Vacations flights places you've lived Jobs you've held, doctors, hospitalizations weddings funerals parties concerts. Restaurants. Conventions. Jot it down.

Save yearbooks, student directories, major city yellow pages 2x a decade where you shop and eat. Small monthly quarterly yearly recaps.

I’m sorry but everytime I read of a solution for all the plastic and microplastic in our environment being eaten by a microbe, I can’t help but think of Crichton’s Andromeda strain, where most of the plastic being eaten was vitally useful.

A story that should be in the back of anyone’s mind of anyone expecting a biological solution.

The world is rife with examples of invasive species that were initially brought in to solve a problem, or simply looked attractive.

Cries always be flying around with a French friend in their mouth like some 40s cartoon heckle and jekyl with a cigar.

I typed :

‘your pharmacy’

Autocorrect typed

‘Ivermectin’

I can tell you with certainty this post the first time my fingers have ever typed the name of that horse dewormer.

Autocorrect, wtf IS your problem? Jebus!

Facebook is now showing me ‘earlier’ notifications that are two weeks old.

I’m certain I saw those the first time before they even became marked as ‘earlier’

So I increasingly think this isn’t the best idea as it may have you handing a phone over to authority figures.

But handing the physical license to be scanned can be just as bad- it can end up scanned into some third party security services database to be hacked , disbursed
