@czarbucks @amyedge @AE4WX @lckrohjr @ai6yr @AlaskaWx @mappingsupport @ingalls @uccawx @cookiesinheaven @DeniseG @bud_t @MiBaWi @technodad @jfk @DismalManorGang Good Monday morning folks. I’ll be taking this work week off to try and be healthy and get caught up on some household projects that I’ve been putting off while arguing with my intestinal system. Whew to my NC peeps with avoiding the tornado outbreak yesterday, Happy belated b-day to head Dismal Denizen. I’ll catch up with you all Friday or Saturday. Until - Randi

#wx #NOAA Day 1 Weather Forecast

I suspect that the tornado watch is going to be trimmed back to eastern and coastal North Carolina in the next hour; not much going on storm-wise across central or southeastern #Virginia at the moment. #VAwx

The average global temperature so far this year (for the January-September period) is the 2nd warmest on record since the start of this dataset...

This data is using NOAAGlobalTempv6.1.0: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/products/land-based-station/noaa-global-temp

Starting to see cloud cover thinning on satellite imagery, over central North Carolina; if that trend expands northward then that will boost our chances of strong storms this afternoon in central/eastern #Virginia. #RVA #VAwx

SPC Oct 11, 2026 1300 UTC Day 1 Convective Outlook https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk_1300.html

We seem to be done with this storm, but clearly that's not true for everyone, even here in NC. What a rainmaker!

We have a grand total of 4.43" for the event, over the 2 days, which is good for my local area.

Wishing the best for others along the path of #Isaias #NCwx #Asheville

From N4RTD via WI8X@0634 AM EDT on 10/11/26:
Good Morning Folks! The Sunspot Number has dropped to 94. The Solar Flux Index has risen to 126. pace weather for the next 24 hours is predicted to be moderate. Geomagnetic storms reaching the G2 level are likely. A-Index is 46, K-Index is 2. Chance of flares today: 65% for M-class, 15% for X-Class.

Light to moderate showers this morning covering almost all of #Maryland, south into northern #Virginia, heavier showers out towards Lynchburg, Lexington, Staunton, Charlottesville; only patchy light rain around #RVA at the moment but more showers are moving north out of the Carolinas and should arrive later today across southeast VA. Overcast skies should put a lid on the severe threat, mostly just looking at a few discreet storm cells later today rather than a widespread threat. #VAwx #MDwx

#CAwx
Critical Fire Weather conditions today within the northern Sacramento Valley into the adjacent foothills. This is due to the combination of low relative humidity and gusty north to northeasterly winds. A Red Flag Warning is in effect through 5am Monday.

#CAwx

Sunday morning weather rushes. Acme Weather boffins foretell gloom and rain.

#CAwx #SGX #graphicast

It never fails to— dismal gloom on my name day. #VAwx #NCwx #SevereWeather thunderstorms still possible.
