macOS was a pretty good unix hooked up to a good UI

macbook pros had their issues some years, but the power management was excellent

people have been calling apple a brand that people only bought to be fashionable for years, and it wasn’t accurate back then

unfortunately, I think apple agreed with those people. cause none of the above applies to apple devices anymore. there’s nothing particularly special about any ios device, and the UI is jankier than ever. they fired all their old unix pros. your MacBook Pro would have great battery life… if the OS and the AI shit you can’t turn off without third-party patches (for now) weren’t sucking cycles they don’t need to
