“Warm Blood” (E•MO•TION, 2015) is an excellent choice, btw https://youtu.be/hnwT921mQjc

“Run Away With Me,” the opening track from E•MO•TION (2015), starts with that iconic sax hook—a declaration of independence from the (already excellent) bubblegum style of Kiss (2012) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeccAtqd5K8

not ch1ccthon1c@kolektiva.socialOct 22, 2026, 6:52 PM@adrian I thought at first glance “warm blood” was a term in use to distinguish the hiring of actual living humans from the robot alternative 🙃 Like, “let’s get a warm blood in here to finish this”
- Adrian SampsonadrianOct 22, 2026, 7:03 PM
@cthon1c honestly that was my first thought too

@adrian i feel like you've been destined for this moment since 2012 or whenever that song first came out
Oct 27, 2026, 6:55 PM@adrian Well, the undergrad research in IRs topic sounds quite interesting!
![Hi, [redacted]—thanks for getting in touch! It is indeed true that I am not currently seeking PhD students in this cycle. However, I wanted to mention that "I Really Like You" is a very nice choice—it has some of the undeniable pop gloss of Jepsen's earlier work while still including some of the updated sound of the "Emotion" era.
Best wishes,
