@RosannaSibora @Gina @_elena The screenshot mentions not being clear but it's still not clear whether they don't want a DEI devroom, reject your proposal for it or are simply out of rooms. I could understand the latter but would feel angry at the formers. I attended fosdem from the first osdem, I care about DEI.
Oct 21, 2026, 10:19 AM@edarchis @RosannaSibora @Gina @_elena From my perspective it's because more and more FOSS communities have been infiltrated by right-wing toxic manosphere trash or, at best, the "we don't want to be political" enablers/liars/self-deluders. DEI is a lightning rod for bigots, so organizers are either in that camp or don't want to attract the attention (thereby capitulating).
Just my $0.02 on it though. Make enough noise and I'm sure somebody in the decision tree will slop-generate a PR letter explaining away their decision.
@edarchis I don't think they will elaborate on their reasoning in a rejection
