WebGL in LW is disabled by default, so I had to set config manually to get it back.
2 settings... webgl.disabled to false, and webgl.force-enabled to true

@lumiworx But what about WebGPU
(I can probably test WebGPU myself, but the question isn't really the current status or even where the WebGPU enable switch is hidden, but what LibreWolf's intentions are from a policy perspective)
I just did a quick search and found this.... still reading to see if and where it is on the road map...
@lumiworx Well, thanks
https://codeberg.org/librewolf/source/pulls/142
Marked as fixed, so now the question is if it is there - where is it...?
Okay... did a search and found it under permissions, labeled as WebGL permissions
Searched for "finger" and there's now 4 settings options under various "fingerprinting" options... but none labeled specifically as WebGPU.
@lumiworx What your previous link said is they turned off webgpu at the about:config level and will not be enabling it or surfacing it to the user until webgpu is available by default in mainline firefox on all platforms. Currently, webgpu is available by default in mainline firefox for Windows but not Linux, ergo per their stated plan turning on WebGL will not currently turn on WebGPU.
what a pisser... my last searches mentioned were on win 10, and didn't occur to me they'd have different setups dependent on what platform. You'd think they'd want to be consistent, but then again... it's FF.
@lumiworx WebGPU is a very special case where there are explicit reasons it might become ready on different operating systems at different times.
I have a feeling this is gonna be a PITA, for me at least, as I'm in the process of putting together a new graphics machine strictly for use with Linux, for 3D and shader/texturing work... and having limitations with some on-line only tools is not gonna make that a happy camper if I'm stuck using FF because it's the only one that has both enabled.
@lumiworx To repeat, webgpu on mainline firefox is disabled by default on linux, requiring an about:config flag to enable, and enabled by default on windows. I believe.
Good - thanks. I haven't gotten to the point of configuration just yet. I'm still in the hardware phase, but good to know I can have access somewhere - toggle or otherwise - but I'm trying not to spew out unrelated data as I do it either, and have been steadily inching away from FF for a while now.
Sometimes it's a 'one step forward, 2 steps back' feeling.
@lumiworx I'd look at it more like being on one of those big treadmills at the airport. You are walking forward at a steady pace but the world is even more rapidly moving you backward
lol... I guess I can be happy it's not like a reworked timeline showing Neanderthal man turning into modern man, returning to Neanderthal man with a cane or a walker.
