https://1stproof.org is the most frontgroup-coded site I've seen in a while, and is only not technically a front group because they plaster their AI and EA funding sources all over the front page
@davidgerard Is this related to that story about an AI agent or whatever solving a very difficult math problem? Which may or may not be verifiable by actual human mathematicians?
@dnkboston pretty much, tho i think it already existed
but imagine writing shit like this:
> First Proof provides independent, transparent, and rigorous engagement with the evolving capabilities of AI in research mathematics. We offer clarity to the mathematical community and to the public so as to ground conversations about the role of AI tools.
and expecting it not to set off every front group alarm
@davidgerard They included the word "independent", so
@dnkboston oh well that's all right then
That specific use of the word "clarity" is, to me, an alarm bell. I have never seen it used like that in a technical circumstance without it being a straight-up lie cooked up by finance people. The last time I saw a flag that red was on May Day.
@passenger @davidgerard @dnkboston You're right. The way "clarity" is used, I feel like they're announcing, "I had to write a speech" as the opening move in DARVO.

Duly noted.
