@Larvitz I would rather read your unpolished prose than AI-assisted text TBH.
I think that, when someone is writing in a second language, word choice and grammar “mistakes” give me some small insight into their thinking in their native language - where there are differences in nuance between English and the other language.
The disclosure is welcome, but I’d vote “no AI at all” if it mattered.
@jzb I understand your point, and I appreciate that perspective. For my technical writing, I use AI much like someone would use a spell-checker or grammar checker. I'm very careful to keep edits light, limited to language and style, without changing what I actually want to say.
The ideas, technical content, and original drafts are entirely mine, and everything is published under my name. I'm aware that not everyone likes AI being involved at all, and that's fair.
For me, this is the best compromise, and I want to be transparent about it so readers can make up their own minds.
