InfoseepageInfoseepage@mastodon.socialOct 11, 2026, 2:20 PM@ratfactor It's thought they make the fish harder to swallow by predators and the longhorn cowfish can also excrete a toxic mucus. Like other box fish, they're very slow moving, so I guess rely on the horns and toxic mucus for defense.
