Not entirely unrelatedly, I shall retire in two years' time, unless the world convinces me it has recovered enough of its sanity to pay me for what I do. I shall go to the trouble of asking.

I don't know if I can get away with retiring for a while yet, but I definitely see the appeal. Whatever, I will continue the occasional appeals for sanity, for whatever they are worth.

@edwinb I have no intention of ceasing work. My point is to stop being prevented from working by having a job.
