@john as a colleague of mine has been saying for decades:

RAID is not a backup.

This syncthing tool provides RAID like functionality, but not automated verified nightly incremental backups.

Different problem, different solution.

I can go back a year and restore an accidentally deleted file, from any of multiple disks at multiple sites.

For RAID I use the md subsystem.
