Then I thought, you know I should make something. I am supposed to be a graphic designer, of some sort. I whipped this up, and I think it's OK! We will test it out soon.

Block Printing Instructions for the Catskill Mountain Maker Camp with Dave Bauer and Tim Brown @davebauerart @timbrshop on Instagram. Font used is Shantell Sans by Shantell Martin. https://shantellsans.com Draw your design on tracing paper. Think about the constrast betweendark and light.Flip over the tracing paper, andtrace over your design to transferthe design to the block. You will becarving reversed, this is especially
important for text and logos.Carve at a fairly shallow angle.Carve about 1mm or 1/16 of an inchdeep, it will be easier to get finedetails. Also, you can always go backand fix up areas after a test print.
Keep your other hand behind the
carving tool. Turn the block to carveat a comfortable angle as you go. Carve carefully around your design. This gives you a border so you cansafely clear the background. Whenever possible carve away fromyour primary design. When you are happy with yourdesign it is time to print! Somefolks keep some of the stray marksand some folks want a clear image. Roll ink ontothe block, andpress! Carefully pull back the paper to reveal your artwork!
