The power of chemicals! And a little brushing on the walls of the pool. And the pool pump running overnight. The storms last week brought algae that grew fast in days of Phoenix sun. This is the pool we were so happy to be able to finally get in after months of overwhelming intense heat in Phoenix.

We were able to swim on August 23 and Drew for the first time in 2 1/2 years walked alone along the edges, did front and back floats and the crawl.

But a week later the accident happened and no more pool time for men with broken legs. Sad sad sad. I’m thinking of going in myself on the first hot day likely to come a few days before the Fall finally holds again. It will be too cold though. Maybe I’ll just dip my legs. It’s the principle, you know.

Son Drew has blue inflated float aids on his arms and waist, and a dense orange and black head support to help him swim safely. He’s doing the crawl and by himself. Facing away and swimming to the right. His brother is too left at hand in case Drew needs help while swimming. The water is very clear and reflects a sunny blue sky so it looks a light aqua blue color.
Same pool with left and right photos as before and after pool cleaning. Left side the water is bright olive green with much surface debris and algae. On right pool this morning early is clear water, and reflects sunny blue sky, safe to swim in.
