@firefoxwebdevs Oh indeed it is. But thought part of its utility for this comparison was that neither JXL nor AVIF used it internally, so the results weren’t skewed by overfitting to that metric. But ‘AOM_TUNE_IQ’ (which I think uses SSIMULACRA 2) is now the default tuning mode for libavif.
Very exciting though! The rust decoder seems to perform well, and the progressive decoding works great!
