@mlatu i tend to jump between projects, mostly because my "priorities" on dependencies kinda shift. it's considerations like "how much drive could i gather for the complexity and drought of a toy erp [lrp] (i havent rly designed (except some wishes to be fully extendable + handwritten notes/drawings))? vs for just a couple ingame objects to visualize and manage with only basic ingame extendability [ccc]? vs THAT 2nd thing + thoughts about some actual gameplay that are burning my wake hours [hot]"
so sometimes one of those jumps to the front, being more or less interesting for some reason or another.
sometimes i forget the clear ccc -> hot -> lrp pipeline that i had laid out somewhere...ill try to organize my development better on plan.cat, perhaps with orgmode even
[ccc] a city builder / "antfarm" / ui toy
[hot] a hotel sim
[lrp] a toy erp game with some goal for a decentralized tool for material cooperation between idiots who think this could be something useful (i wouldnt make it if i wasnt interested in using it i guess. oh god. welcome to my oldest idea of these. its almost as if each time i realized how much effort would have to go into this thing i "invented" another step... another other project... "oh i could perhaps use d instead..." and then run off to explore d based ui solutions. dlang-ui is ok i guess. to be frank i only reconsidered dlang because it is garbage collected and i dont know what to say but i like gc collection. i guess i would also like using rust more, but reasoning about where the stuff goes and having a great tool to call ones errors out is great in and of itself, yay rust, but still, pls give me a lispy repl instead. (to cut shit short:) and janet-lang is (to me) a lispy enough and more importantly its abstractions are not to far hidden away, after a while when working on c-code that is interacting with janet, it becomes just another interface on that side.
shillmode: activated /jk
on the janet side you get an environment you can embed in a website, or another c or c++ (other bindings exist too) executable. (you can use it in the tic-80!!!) there is the excellent raylib, bound into jaylib.
i think :) its really good.
and the people working with and on janet-lang are really nice too <3
