I am so old that my grade school report card had a subject called "citizenship".

I'm not saying that I want kids to obsequiously follow authority. They get enough of that shit.

I am saying that character actually matters, and our grandparents knew that, and that we have forgotten it to our peril.

Weirdly, my report card also had 'handwriting' as a subject. I think keyboards and screen killed that one for good.
