We'll have to do "AI" rehab for folks once this hype is over. I'm not even kidding.

Today in @crazy4pi314 isms: "no, the Washington state sport isn't pickleball, it's going to a queer bar and striking out."

Okay so the important things seem to be this comment

the second screenshot (the terminal shot) attached to this post

I still don't understand it, but I think I'm closer to understanding it than I have been ever in the last 25 years. Just gotta think about those type signatures. And in the meantime I don't *have* to understand it, I can just use do notation and worry later about which Math Things my code corresponds to.

For some ungodly reason, both `VBoxManage setproperty vrdeauthlibrary "VBoxAuthSimple"` and `VBoxManage setproperty vrdeauthlibrary default` result in any RDP connections unceremoniously dying.

Which, yes, I know, don't use VirtualBox, because Oracle fucking sucks.

But still.

Ugh, now I'm fighting against RDP auth to VM guests. Always something.

passkeys would be so good if they were good

I could criticize bury your gays here, but um. She is alive, in a coma, which is how Dylan started the game — there's clear precedent in text for Jesse's state being temporary, and not a bury your gays moment.

So I will celebrate that she is in lesbians.

Confirmed, they are in lesbians with each other.

i wanna start a software consultancy for cleaning up vibecoded projects where all we do is ask clients when they started vibecoding and rollback to a commit before that point

hey, uhhh, can you speak that symbol for me?

no can do, boss. it's one of those [[unspeakable symbol]]s

Gods are asleep. Post modernism

The Linux kernel is going to remove the requirement to disclose that "AI" was used for a contribution. Apparently, this was decided at the Linux Maintainers Summit, away from the LKML. No open discussion.

What a clown show.

AI means I'll never release another open source software project.

There, I said it.

@aud @xgranade @glyph So a thing to remember is it's a game which is extremely about the United States government and is made entirely by Finnish people

@aud @xgranade @glyph the post never actually concludes the Board is a lesser evil; rather, it contrasts two entities, one of which it is possible to coexist with, and one it is not

It took me a long time to realize that the first Control game was intended to be any kind of horror or spooky. It just felt kinda... real. And a little comforting.

I'm guessing that says something about me. Probably.

Strong FBC energy on that first suggestion

"Control.Monad.Trans" would be a really good social media display name

Getting to that state did require temporarily breaking CHM and CBR support, which sucks, but I think I have good strategies to get those back. At least CHM. CBR is much more important but also much more challenging.

Made enough progress on macOS maintenance for now that I think I could reasonably check if things like the WASM-based hyphenation bindings work well there.

A lot more to be done, but I'm pretty happy with that bit, at least.
