I legit miss when talking about having larger-than-median amounts of RAM in a computer was a nerdy e-peen thing and not a truly gauche and ostentatious display of wealth.

Uncle Autumn gon' teach y'all how to get down in this season proper, just as soon as I find my talking stick.

Fancy fall folk don't have layers and scarves for fashion's sake, fam.

OK, hell yes we do, but we also do it for function: layers are flexibility that single catch-all shell garments lack. If your wardrobe can shift so you cool off the parts of you that need it while keeping everywhere else warm, that's a *win* for being able to stay outside doing what you're doing, longer.

One of my favorite pasttimes of my season is what I like to call the Adventure of Thermal Regulation.

That’s probably a 20-30 minute drive.

The amount of human effort that's been put into making spreadsheets do things that spreadsheets _are bad at doing_ is kinda wild. Like, at this point I think anything that can be done with a spreadsheet eventually will be done with a spreadsheet.

Far too much of civilization has been optimized to serve the interests of a cohort with little interest in learning to do anything new.

There are so many reasons to deny the reality of climate #collapse:

"In the face of extreme climate risks, I am under pressure to cut my forecasts for the losses that disasters will cause in order to make insurance more affordable – and get my employer more business."

“More on Anthropic's Scion ripping off Mononoke · sunshowers”

https://sunshowers.io/posts/anthropic-mononoke-2/

> However, after publishing the post I privately received confirmation that Scion intentionally and blatantly ripped off Mononoke, and in particular that there was overlap in personnel. There is no chance that this was an unintentional homage.

TIL that there is a standard for technical English, originally thought up by the airline industry in order to have rules on how to write documentation for that makes it easier for non-native English speakers to understand.

It’s called ASD-STE100, where STE stands for Simplified Technical English. It’s available for free (with a Google form asking for some personal data) over at https://www.asd-ste100.org/

what’s sad is how many people know this and go anyway because “the chicken is good” when it’s not. it’s mid! but enjoy your conservative cheat days, weirdos

Gentlemen prefer blondes.

Trees, I mean. 🍂

Assume you are in a world where it is believed that everyone's soul is reincarnated into the world after death into a new life. If you were to be able to walk ancestral memories like in Assassin's Creed, which option is more interesting to you:
- Walking the memories of your blood ancestors (the folks whose reproduction directly led to the present incarnation of you.)
- Walking the memories of your soul (the lives your soul lived prior to your present incarnation.)

Goofy isn't the boogey man.

Goofy is who you send to kill the hyuckin' boogey man.

There is a head canon I maintain where Goofy is an assassin for Disney corporate, and the Hamburgler steals fast cars à la Gone in 60 Seconds… and I very much want to see their buddy movie.

Do ya'll not realize how many iPhone Duos you could've bought instead? At least 4!
