Well, apart from the fact that they are tacky & not "original," what's the problem?
Yes, it would be better if the originators would have just taken the time to create announcements with original material by their own hand but people are inherently lazy & the announcements don't attempt to deceive anybody.
They're just announcements of planned events & I really don't see the harm, except for their lack of taste.

I'll admit that I didn't "get" Dolly Parton for most of my life - not in the sense that I didn't like her, but in the sense that I just didn't understand why she or her music were such a big deal. I'm generation skipping because my son turned out to be an ungrateful SOB. So, I currently plan to transfer all of my $/assets to my 2 grandchildren but, if they turn out to be ungrateful SOBs too, I'll give it all to charity.
I don't feel like I owe any of them anything & I don't want them to know how much $ they're likely to receive because I don't want that knowleege to affect how they relate & treat me before I die.
All I'd like to get some unsolicited attention & respect from them as their grandfather &, if I get that, they'll get the $. Otherwise not!

Bought a new EV today to replace the 2023 VW id4 Pro lease return that I gave up a few weeks ago.
Got a good price in on a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in good shape with relatively high mileage for a 2 yr old car but I won't be driving it that much. Paying cash.
Expect to keep it for at least 10-15 years which is typical of the 3 others cars & the truck that I own.
I'm picking it up tomorrow. 😊

I watched more soccer in the past few wks than I previously did in the entire 75 yrs of my entire life.
I still find the game mostly boring, especially when no goals are scored & it's just a defensive battle.
This is the reason why I only watched a couple of games live, instead of viewing them off of recordings on fast forward to just watch the scoring plays.
Nothing I saw, including the final game between #Spain & #Argentina, which I watched live, changed my mind.
I've watched enough to learn the rules & nuances of the game but it was still boring to me.
But what's worse to me is how the players on all teams constantly over react to contact & fake injuries & fall down & roll over & scream out as though in plain after incidental contact just to get a penalty call. It's ridiculous! 🤦♂️
So, I won't be watching any more soccer games anytime soon. 🤷🏻♂️
And I'll continue to watch FOOTBALL (or even rugby) instead, where men who get hit have a real reason to fall down!!! 😎

Local news was all a tither talking about the relatively minor 5.6 quake that occurred in Mendocino yesterday.
However, the 7.2 & 7.5 #earthquakes that hit Caracas in Venezuela back to back yesterday were far more significant than the one in Mendocino.
To put it in context, the quakes in Caracas were about 40 to 79 times stronger than the one in Mendocino.
And, for further comparison, note that the 7.2 & 7.5 quakes were 2 & 4x's stronger than the 6.9 Loma Prieta quake in the #SFBA in 1989.
So, when we're taking earthquakes, things really don't start to get serious until they hit 6 on the Richter scale.
BTW, for those who are unfamiliar with the matter, the selector switches that can convert a Glock (& similar handguns) into fully automatic weapons are ALREADY classified as "machine guns" under Federal law & it is illegal for anyone to own with without a Federal machine gun license.
So, this law banning Glock ownership in CA is entirely unnecessary & is being challenged in state court on this basis. 🤷♂️

As of July 1, 2026:
**Glocks and Glock-style handguns no longer for sale in California**
"California will no longer allow firearms dealers to sell a common type of handgun — one also favored by former Vice President Kamala Harris. The law, passed last year and challenged in a National Rifle Association lawsuit before it was dropped, bans the sale of Glock and Glock-style handguns. It reclassified the weapon as a type of machine gun, because the pistols can be easily converted into automatics with a converter.
The ban applies only to new sales, and won’t prevent private sales. If Harris still has the Glock she referenced while running for president in 2024, she’s still allowed to own it."
I own 6 different Glock variations & can legally carry 2 of them. Guess they'll be worth a lot more now in the CA resale market. 🤷♂️

Nice to see, from the box score, the Giants win a pitchers' duel over the #Brewers 1-0 & to see Webb pitch like the workhorse "ace" of the pitching staff that he's supposed to be. 😊
Webb pitched 7 innings giving up only 1 hit & 1 BB with 4Ks. 👏👏👏
The only concern is that with all the vet hitters in the lineup, the only run produced by the Giants came off the bat of a rookie named Bericoto who hit a HR.
Why this vet staff can't hit & score runs consistently is a mystery but a win is a win & the Giants need a lot more wins.
