Heavy mist, again. Not good for seeing that far ahead, but very good for breathing. As a late consequence of getting vaccinated, all of my hips, legs, knees and feet felt like lead and were overly sensitive to motion (which kinda sucks when #running a 24K). But I made a good use of the huge amounts of very smooth air and listened to my audiobook. All’s well! Have a great Sunday, y’all! #coros #apex4 #aalen
I was introduced to #TeXLaTeX in 1994 when I started to write my final paper for school. Now, 32 years later, I am still in awe about a software that *just works* on ANY computer platform, hammering out splendid results without having to be updated/upgraded or paid for at any point of time (apart from a reference book which, honestly, is needed). Little by little, I began using it even more when #apple put their failed attempts at #ai into #Pages — and I’m really happy with this decision!
Oooh, too tired. But I took the deep dive into a new audiobook, so I hardly noticed my abysmal pace and just kept going. Later, I got my Covid refresher and my flu shot, so, I guess, tomorrow’s probably going to be another slow #running day… (who cares?)
And, *wide grin*, the weekend’s just around the corner. Yay! Have a great time, y’all! #coros #apex4 #health #flushot #vaccination
Not very fast, but a good run, feeling well from start to finish. And listening to NOT TILL WE ARE LOST by Dennis E. Taylor in preparation for the 6th BOBIVERSE novel. It’s my third or fourth round, and it keeps getting better. It rained for a few minutes, but that was quite okay — and the air was so clear and fresh, wow! #Running #coros #apex4 #dennisetaylor #audiobooks

Final results are in: Of 928 male runners, I was 183rd. And of 59 male runners in my age bracket (50+), I ended up seventh. That’s quite good, way better than I felt when I reached the end of the run.
(My Ice Cubes app has crashed three times when I tried to add ALT text to the pics, so I’ll just let it be for now…)
In the end, that’s what I ended up with. I’m not really happy with it, having run my own private marathons with 3:25 and 3:27 this year. But it helped me in that way that I’m not going to do any more of these public runs. There’s not much fun in #running when you’re in a mass of people for the first ~16 or ~18 kilometers (I just can’t remember when they split off the half marathon…).
That’s what it looked like — unfortunately, it stayed rather close to this for the first few kilometers. I took over whenever possible, but I couldn’t find my rhythm (how should I, going 5:45 in a spot, 4:15 a few meters on, then back to 5:25, then 4:27…)
These masses of people aren’t for me. I was completely stressed out by these huge amounts of people. My heart rate stayed at around 180-195. My usual heart rate is ~130-140, 155 when I really push it hard. #running #einstein #marathon #ulm
Last run before the #Einstein #Marathon in #Ulm is done, and it went very well. That might be attributed to a good night’s sleep (only interrupted for ~30 minutes, I had to get my wife from the train station at 3:30am) and one week of almost only 10K runs. So, let’s see what I can do tomorrow. You’ll get pics, but not *during* the run. #running #coros #apex4
Two days until the #EinsteinMarathon in #Ulm — and I’m very much looking forward to this event. The one time I took part in it (~8 years ago), it was extremely well organized, the atmosphere was great and me and my wife had a lot of fun. So it was just a 10K today, but I took some cool pics of the full moon. Yes, what may have looked like the sunrise is actually the moonset. Gorgeous! Have a great weekend, y’all! #Running #Coros #Apex4
Fall is here. And I like that. #Running in the dark is what I usually do, so no problems with that. Temperatures are in a range that works very well for me as a runner (9-13 degrees Celsius).
It’s only been about one week of work, but I’m already tired enough to really need these 60% runs as marathon prep for the Einstein Marathon in Ulm. After Saturday, I’ll go down to a mere 7-10 kilometers/day (30%). This should have me refreshed for the *official* run. #coros #apex4
When the new iOS & iPadOS versions will be out in the near future, people in Europe will get one without the deep Gemini integration (it’s a violation of European laws to tie your OS to one and only one AI proprietor). I‘d really like to go some steps further and get an iOS/iPadOS version completely devoid of ANY AI deployed systemwide. If you need/want AI, download an app for that, but don‘t force it down our collective throats! #apple #ai
Rather experimental run today, this #route was a mixed bag of at least three or four former routes. And, apart from the elevation gain (which was severe at points), a route with many glorious views. Since I had no plan where I would run at the outset, I came home only after 26+ kilometers, but it was a very good run. Have a great evening (or whatever time you’re in right now), y‘all! #running #aalen #coros #apex4
Family get-together in #Estenfeld — a small town near #wuerzburg where parts of our family have been located for at least 50 years by now. It was good to see so many faces again, but also a bit exhausting. Nevertheless, I managed to get out and run. And a lot has changed all around, most stuff has improved a lot: two old school buildings are gone, one has already been replaced, the other will follow. Nice! Happy Sunday to y‘all! #running #coros #apex4
Today’s morning run was a successful attempt to get back into some kind of rhythm that helps me spend my days in a productive way. After our return from #denmark in one 11.5 hour drive, I was completely out of my rhythm, having steered our car home for the last 3-4 hours. With my early getting up and out for this run, I came back into a good pattern. Yeah! #running #coros #apex4
Short evening run, must turn my timing around to mornings again, that’s why I cut off several kilometers. Another reason: I drove from #copenhagen to #aalen — switching at the steering wheel with one of our daughters and my wife. And still there I was, at the wheel for at least 6.5 of the 11 hours it took us. We arrived at one in the morning, not my usual time. So today was kind of a tune back to my old rhythm day. #running #coros #apex4
After a short nosebleed this morning (just blowing my nose too intensely, no worries), I decided on the distance for today’s run and started off… Brilliant weather, just enough wind to cool off a little and this marvelous scenery — what else could I wish for? You guessed it: my audiobook (THE DRAWING OF THE THREE by Stephen King) #running #denmark #coros #apex4 #audiobooks #thedarktower #stephenking
