I met with Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen @Statsmin@twitter.com. We discussed in detail the threats of Russian escalation, particularly against our energy infrastructure. It is clear that Russia has taken signals about easing sanctions as a green light to continue waging war against residential buildings, substations, and any other infrastructure that sustains normal life.

Right now, it is critically important for everyone in Europe to mobilize to strengthen protection against this brutal terror ahead of winter. Air defense is the top priority, first and foremost anti-ballistic defense and everything that helps intercept jet-powered “shaheds.”

We also discussed how Denmark can help provide financial support for our resilience. We agreed that our teams will continue working at their level. We appreciate that we can always count on Denmark. Thank you, Mette!

I got a call from someone I don't know.

"Hi. We have a FreeBSD server. It's been working perfectly for years, but it hasn't been updated since then. We asked AI to update it, but now it won't boot anymore. It didn't even make a backup before starting. The AI keeps trying things, everything is down, and we've already spent over €500 in tokens. Can you help us?"

"Sure. €500, plus the time it'll take me to try to fix it. Assuming it can still be fixed and nothing important has been deleted."

"That much?"

Some silence.

"Well, I hope AI takes your job away!" And he hung up.

Believing that autopilot automatically makes you an invulnerable professional pilot will ruin far more people than job losses will.

I don't know if AI will take my job away, but it's already cost them €500 and, probably, their server.

Also: All these gaming PC cases typically has the space for a single SATA drive or two. I get that they'll primarily be using NVME's, but I know my dad will want to also use his computer as a computer, just like I would. Sigh.

I find it so very odd that a "sleeper pc/build" is (generally) just a PC in a functional case. Meanwhile the majority of PC cases out there today are hella impractical.

Building a new PC (of used parts primarily, because reusing, yay!) for my father, I've had a hard time finding a case that has a 5.25" bay for DVD/BR drive and a 3.5 ext. for a card reader.

I get that it's possible to do these things with USB peripherals these days, but I can't be the only one who likes to have them integrated?

Heading to my parents place today i drove across a small bridge, speaking a canal. 10 meters from the side the road were 3 eagles right over the canal.

Never been so close before.

It was amazing even if it last but a couple of seconds. I had no way to pull over to take any pictures 😭

(Eagles are generally a rare sight in Denmark)

What are your pain points, folks? Stuff that you hate doing or dealing with, or problems you can't find a good solution to? Stuff that other people might be frustrated with, too.

I'm looking for a way to make myself valuable to other people, as a way to both help people and also earn an income to feed my family in the process.

One thing I can do *really well* is create reliable software to automate rote tasks, generate financial/statistical/other reports, or calculate difficult solutions. Think it can't be done without LLMs? I might surprise you!

Min personlige holdning vejer vel meget lidt i alt det her, men personligt synes jeg at Danmark skylder Grønland meget, og nok ikke mindst en større grad af selvbestemmelse. Jeg synes enden på det Danske rigsfællesskab ville være en skam, men jeg ønsker også inderligt at alle parter i det er: partnere. Og det betyder også at alle der er der, er der, fordi de vælger det.

Today has been a special day. The weather is the same as exactly 12 years ago.

How do i recall? Well, 12 years ago i was standing in the ruins of a church, abandoned for 300 years, waiting next to my father, with a bunch of people looking expectantly between eachother, me and the path in the trees through which the bride and her father would enter. They were 15 minutes late, because as usual her mother decided she knew better than her GPS.

It's been 12 hard years, but the best of my life.
