Am I a bad person for wanting guix to configure netbsd?

TIL that your local bookshop does actually get money from things you buy via https://bookshop.org, but they get more if you buy it from the bookshop directly. I certainly know my local in Broughty Ferry will order things for me too

Just replace team mate with grad student in this quote: Plainly speaking, if you think your AI agent is going to replace teammates, you never valued your teammates to begin with. Reading John Cutler's linkedin post about what makes a team, has me thinking about the proliferation of so-called agentic management frameworks. Agentic-replacing employees logic only works if you've already decided that the only thing that matters about your teammates is what shows up in their outputs.

Omg, Worf is the worst dad #StarTrek

Read this.

Do you think everyone hates you and they are only being polite?

Kate Manne writes about the #cornell7 I am not comparing the severity of the accusations here (not that they should ever be compared) but the administration reaction is EXACTLY like UW. The administration resorts to DARVO because they have no real excuse, so they claim the people demanding accountability (me and the women) to somehow be the real problem. https://archive.is/QwAqF

@neil @hedders not sure if either of you have capacity or if you can help, but how do you find a good solicitor to help with the weird freelancing bit of company law/employment law?

Trying to help a friend find a solicitor and it is difficult (if you have the time I'd be very happy to put her in touch with you). Not a tech company, but some bits might become tech related.

Ugh. I am not a morning person

I think what I resent most about my phone is that it always feels like someone else's. It isn't mine to do what I want.

I think the local chippie needs to rethink the ai images on justeat

Successfully prosecuting the LLM companies under The Computer Misuse Act for their hacking activities is going to do a lot more to regulate their behaviour than any proposed regulation is.

I have a feeling any upcoming regulation will just build a moat around the existing big players and entrench their position.

I think gen ai/LLMs are supposed to make us give up on creating and FLOSS. If there is no community building things the only place you could get it from is the oligarchs.

I liked it more when companies and institutions and oligarchs were afraid to voice their fascism

Is there a non evil non slop password manager?

Hi! If you create, maintain, otherwise a thing without LLM help, shout about it. There are people (me for one) who are desperate to find things that aren't part of the oligarchs' enclosure of our imagination.

Just look at this poster for Dundee Critical Mass #BikeTooter #CriticalMass

Are you in Tayside today? If so, why not go for a bike ride? https://www.cyclehub.org/acf #BikeTooter

Where did I read that the only safe license for something partly LLM coded is the GPL?

Which OSs have LLM code in them?
