1️⃣1️⃣ Here's the 11th post highlighting key new features of the upcoming v261 release of systemd. #systemd261 #systemd
In the previous installment we already talked a lot about secrets when booting without a TPM. Let's continue in this general area: with the "boot secret" described in the previous posting we now have a random but persistent per-installation secret that userspace will receive. But how precisely do we want to consume it?
We could of course directly consume it from FDE, i.e.…
Decided to add Kumo to the list of projects built with #Servo :
Lots of cool projects there. Once my touch support fixes are upstreamed, it might be a nice project to try and get some broken websites working in it.
🧪 The test phase for postmarketOS v26.06 starts next week (moved back by one week as preparing the repo and images need some more time).
If you want to, you too can take part in the testing effort by simply adding yourself to the testing team wiki page and joining the testing chat!

I've gone through and finally wrote up my review on the #furilabs #FLX1s and shared my thoughts about it. Just in time for it to be sold out and for the #FLX1s+ to take its place lol. Luckily most of it should still apply except for some of the QA issues and the camera since everything else is still the same. Let me know what you guys think! The phone is really starting to shape up well with some good news coming up in the next update.
To the people who would like to contribute to postmarketOS but haven't, what is stopping you? Or, people who *have* contributed but stopped. (With the exception of just not having time or such)
I'd love to hear some feedback on how our contribution process could be streamlined.
The FLX1s Plus is now in stock and shipping this week.
If you've been waiting, now's the time. Orders placed today ship before the weekend! Grab one before stock runs out.
We hit 140M WiFi networks in the database today! 🎉
As I am now daily-driving #PureOS Crimson on #Librem5 for a bit (not planned, but when other devices break), here's some photos I took today (jpg, completely unedited, just as Millipixels created them).

Huh. This is interesting (shows where the IRD (our tax department) hosts our data): https://hosting-checker.net/websites/ird.govt.nz how's that data sovereignty working out for us, Aotearoa NZ?

The tale of "convenience" is a bit of a trick. A lot of corporate provided services maybe were somewhat convenient a decade ago, but they are now increasingly authoritarian, and people tend to ignore how much time they steal.
Total number of hours spent solving captchas or consent screens with #deltachat #chatmail and #webxdc apps: 0 (zero). Nada. Zilch.
Compare with the estimated 819 million hours which humans spent with Google's recaptcha alone https://boingboing.net/2025/02/07/recaptcha-819-million-hours-of-wasted-human-time-and-billions-of-dollars-google-profit.html
Testing request for Qualcomm devices on Mobian:
We’d appreciate more testing of Linux 6.18 on Qualcomm devices before considering it as the default kernel for testing users.
Relevant packages:
linux-image-6.18-sdm845
linux-image-6.18-sdm670
If you’re running an SDM845 or SDM670 device, please test and report:
boot success/failures
suspend/resume
modem/Wi-Fi/audio/camera status
regressions vs current kernel
stability and battery life
Feedback and test reports are very welcome.
PureOS Crimson is now available!! This release improves the foundation of PureOS throughout the entire operating system. Users will find it significantly more responsive with improved stability and reliability.
We encourage all PureOS Byzantium users to upgrade today! You can even try out our new pureos-upgrade tool for a seamless experience:

Better late than never: PureOS 11 (crimson) is finally out, catching up with Debian 12 (bookworm) just in time for when bullseye/byzantium lose their extended security support next month. If you're still on byzantium, update ASAP! It's a solid improvement over both byzantium and plain bookworm. 🧵

Last week I was back at that same table. Final FLX1s units sold, major FuriOS issues resolved. Simultaneously.
