Okay, but like, who brought mustard gas to comic con and made this an explicit rule? What happened?

AMD's graphics card naming convention is so poorly thought out that you can literally buy a card called the XFX RX 7900 XTX.

Like, please, stop putting the letter X into your component names, there are 25 other letters in the alphabet, genuinely begging

Happy #caturday ! Jellytot is once again unhappy with how little chimken she has received.

Have a #caturday photo dump. Jellytot puts up with so much of my nonsense. Also the other day she was trying to invade my sock drawer.

Ship of theseus, but it's a band you used to listen to in high-school and all but one of the original members have parted.

Some evil shit I saw today:
My mother installed an app for her blood pressure monitor and the app installed a launcher that *almost* matches stock on her phone for the sole purpose of showing an ad every other time she opens an app.

That is... Evil. I'd be impressed if it weren't so heinous. Installing a launcher so less tech savvy people won't notice their phone has been infected with adware is a hell of a strategy.

I'm glad my mother feels like she can ask me for help about this stuff but other old people might think they're doing something wrong so go check up on some people in your life.

That moment when you haven't touched a module for months and an assignment due date comes up and all those problems you left for future you are here because future you is current you.

Anyway I just crammed four chapters in two days and handed in my computer architecture module assignment, I am deceased, I am so tired, I hate past me, that fucker did me so dirty, I will however not learn my lesson.

Hate finding out weird idiosyncrasies of C++ at 3AM when I have an assignment due, like come on what do you mean standard library vectors, stacks and queues don't return the element you pop? Worst still, you can index into vectors and deques but you can't index into stacks and queues. To print the contents of a stack or queue you basically have to make a copy you print front then pop, so you can't even just print the element you just popped. Maddening stuff.

Yesterday I felt that triple threat, fatigue, constipation, acid reflux. Meat vessels are terrible and we must upgrade them to something sturdier.

Is a bit early for #Caturday but I was scrolling my gallery and just had to ask...

Why does my cat always look angry? All you do is nap and get pets and get treats. Where did Jellytot learn to hate like this???

Man this Kansas driver's license thing is so awful. It feels like I keep watching the US become steadily more fascistic. Trans folks need support right now, please do what you can.

I think my laptop's battery life on Linux Mint is improved over Windows, but it's hard to tell since both Mint and Windows report wildly inaccurate time remaining. Mint is *less* inaccurate, starting off with 2 and a half hours remaining which should be what this laptop is capable of (is old and battery is stock) but jumping up to 3 hours 33 mins by the time it hits 53%, whereas Windows would repeatedly tell me the laptop is on the verge of dying when it was just taken off charge.

I see it's one of those weeks where an event very important to US citizens is taking over the feed of everyone everywhere else and we all just kinda have to sit and pretend like it isn't weird that a local sporting event is spoken about with the same excitement and gravitas as the Olympics.

Pictured: A grey tuxedo cat stretched out, mid yawn, jaw entirely unhinged. Happy #caturday

I keep thinking about how every time The Escapist had someone other than Yahtzee make something that anyone gave a shit about, that creator left, and now that Frost has left Second Wind, it's in the exact same spot. The only reason any of these fucking companies are afloat is because Yahtzee can't be fucked to do his own admin, which is fair, but like, if my media company only had one earner and we were only afloat because he's too lazy to go independent... I'd try keep a second guy, damn.

EMAIL WRAPPED 2025

This year, you received too fucking much email!

Number of emails that found you well: zero

Number of emails that you printed, even though you didn't consider the environment: zero

Number of times an "out of office" autoresponder was immediately followed by the person answering your email: all of the times

Your favorite email was: none of them

Next year, you are considering: are there any countries where email is illegal, and what are their immigration laws?

Oh wow that is a lot of boosts to wake up to

Okay but like, the buried news here is that Valve and collaborators casually dropped an insanely good x86 to ARM translation layer to make the Steam Frame possible which is gonna be kind of a revolution in this space? And it's open source too?

Like, gaming on ARM Linux is possible, and not in the "they ported Balatro to Android" way. A bunch of Android tablets are going to become very cool very quickly.

Ah no, dude, Diane Keaton died.

Now let me set the scene. Directly in front of me was a man rocking a MacBook Air, Apple Airpods, not one but two iPhones and the only reason he wasn't wearing an Apple watch is because he was already wearing a designer luxury watch. He was kinda passively working, flipping through his phone, he looked like he was half paying attention to the meeting. And like, if you told me they were there to discuss adding an AI agent to their sparkling water company's website, I'd believe you.
