I'm so over this dark pattern from Apple. 🤬

They genuinely used to be a better company than this. 😢

We used to joke about how MS owned your PC and you updated when MS felt like it.

How far we’ve fallen. 😩

As Tim Cook finishes up as Apple's CEO, I've been pondering the future of Apple Vision Pro. Cook was a known advocate for the platform (including it shipping when it did), and I couldn't help but feel echos of John Scully's pet project (the Newton) in this the “era of spatial computing" as Apple proclaimed in June 2024. I took some time to write it up earlier this week.

It has been a long time since I have been successfully Rickrolled, and even longer since I actually laughed out loud at it.

This morning I got an Arctic Wolf notification that one of my users had tried to run a terse request for a .ps1 file which was likely hostile.

Thanks for the LOLs @Lee_Holmes ! 🤣🤣🤣

This has got to be one of the worst macOS defaults to have this turned on for a fresh setup. I've never seen a Windows switcher not be utterly frustrated by the Mac’s trackpad experience, as almost imperceptible differences in pressure (for them, given how bad PC trackpads generally are!) is never explained. The trackpad just appears to have weird inconsistent results. First setting that I always disable. 🤷‍♂️ #UX #macos

Hi @edovia Are random disconnects when sending clipboard to servers that are tunneled over SSH a known issue? 🤔 Can’t figure out any rhyme or reason, but has happened on last major version and still happening on new version. Thanks!

Does anyone out there know if the Apple Account on a Sequoia Virtual Machine is linked to the Apple Account (or lack thereof) on the host OS? @siracusa @stroughtonsmith @chockenberry

Hi @WorkingCopy — me again. :)

Wondering how popular these shortcuts are? As a long time Mac/iPad keyboard-for-text-editing user I find breaking default system shortcuts interrupts my work *a lot* as I use them subconsciously all day every day.

The system wide behaviour:

OPT-←or→ (jump to start/end of word)
CMD-←or→ (Jump to start/end of line)
CMD-Up (jump to start of doc)
CMD-Down (jump to end of doc)

Frequently they’re combined with SHIFT to select the text between cursor and jump point.

Hi @WorkingCopy

I’m trying out Working Copy and loving it so far. A couple of questions I couldn’t find in the doco (I may have missed it!)

1. Is there a way to change the GitHub syntax used for previewing in Working Copy? I use “Alerts” a lot and they don’t seem to display.

2. Is there a setting to increase the side padding of text in edit/preview? I find it’s just a bit too close to the edge my brain. 🤔

Thanks!
